MIHI. Fashion, The beginning of something great!

One Sunday morning while at church, I was looking around at all of the fashionable young people, thinking about how much fashion and style is emphasized in our influences. I get the magazine Elle, and as I was flipping through it, I just got irritated, seeing so much nudity, and such unrealistic people. How in the world is a naked woman a form of fashion? Fashion is about clothes, accessories, hair, shoes, nails; it has nothing to do with nudity or waste size. I thought deeply about this and realized there is not a fashion magazine out there that I would encourage my daughter to read. That just makes me sad. Our world pushes sex upon us through every media, and to me, fashion does not have to be something made bad because of sex and a certain way you are 'supposed' to look. Fashion is my passion, and I want to share it with the world in a way that has never been seen before.

The name MIHI just came to me while I was in the shower one day. Oh shush. So what I was in the shower. At least I take those! Anyway, I was listening to Pandora on my phone, and the song More Beautiful You by Jonny Diaz came on. I love this song anyway because it just hits so many things in my life, but as I was listening to this, I thought about what he was saying.
Little girl fourteen flipping through a magazine
Says she wants to look that way
But her hair isn't straight her body isn't fake
And she's always felt overweight

Well little girl fourteen I wish that you could see
That beauty is within your heart
And you were made with such care your skin your body and your hair
Are perfect just the way they are

[Chorus]
There could never be a more beautiful you
Don't buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you

Little girl twenty-one the things that you've already done
Anything to get ahead
And you say you've got a man but he's got another plan
Only wants what you will do instead

Well little girl twenty-one you never thought that this would come
You starve yourself to play the part
But I can promise you there's a man whose love is true
And he'll treat you like the jewel you are

[chorus]

So turn around you're not too far
To back away be who you are
To change your path go another way
It's not too late you can be saved
If you feel depressed with past regrets
The shameful nights hope to forget
Can disappear they can all be washed away
By the one who's strong can right your wrongs
Can rid your fears dry all your tears
And change the way you look at this big world
He will take your dark distorted view
And with His light He will show you truth
And again you'll see through the eyes of a little girl
In my humble opinion, fashion and style are different. Fashion is a noun, where as I personally believe that style is a verb. Everyone has their own style; however, everyone does not have their own fashion.
This blog is all about fashion, and how we can use our fashion to glorify God. You don't have to be drab to be Godly! You definitely don't have to be a size 1 and as big around as bamboo to be Godly.
We are made in HIS image. Do you think you are ugly? That’s basically saying, oh hey God, your ugly. No. You are beautiful, because our creator, our wonderful, amazing, loving God created beautiful you. Therefore, you are made in his magnificent image, and you’re not allowed to complain about it. God made you who you are, and we each need to embrace that. Fashion is a way for me to express who I am, and who I am in Christ. I like to look my best when I enter the Lords house; I also like to look my best when I go out in public. Yes, I like to look good. But more importantly, I like to look good for my Jesus.

MIHI.Fashion's purpose is to give you the same fashion effect as magazines like Vogue, Nylon, and Elle, without the immodesty and unrealistic people, and with a positive message. I want to encourage young people to be into fashion, and into God. I want to take this as far as God allows, so please, get involved! You’ll regret it if you don’t! =]

Watch the site, and the Facebook for events, photo shoots, and news. Thank you so much for your support! Please keep the magazine in your prayers, that we would reach others for Christ, and do what God has for us to do! Thanks again! God bless!
